Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday discussed developments in the region, the importance of regional cooperation to fight terrorism and the final elimination of criminal gangs.
The Jordanian monarch, Abdullah bin al-Hussein, congratulated Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi during the call on the victories of the armed forces against gangs and called for criminalization, stressing his country's support for Iraq in its war against terrorism .
"Abadi received a telephone call from King Abdullah bin Al Hussein," a statement from the Prime Minister's Office said. "The Jordanian monarch congratulated Abadi and the Iraqi people on the victories achieved by the Iraqi forces and the success of the liberation operations in Mosul, reiterating Jordan's firm support for Iraq in its war against terrorism," the statement said.
According to the statement, Abadi "thanked Jordan for its congratulations and its supportive attitude to Iraq in the fight against terrorism." Stressing that "Iraq's determination to liberate all its territory from gangs and support of terrorist and secure the border."
Abadi "reviewed the developments in the region and the importance of regional cooperation to combat terrorism and the final elimination of criminal gangs, " the statement said.
