    Mawazine News Baghdad
Mawazine News reveals the documents of the contract of the Haritha power supply project signed by the province of Basra with Amartia.
According to the contract published by Mawazine News, the company is committed to erecting quick units in Al-Haritha area with a capacity of (120) megawatts to complete the erection of the units within a maximum of 30 days from the date of signing the contract and removing the units from the port of Umm Qasr. The province to provide all official facilities and communications to all the relevant departments, while sources revealed that the value of the purchase of electricity will be about 118 billion dinars from the station.
According to the documents, the price of a kilowatt of 7 US cents is the price agreed in the original contract, which also indicates that the financing of the contract is the revenues of the Ministry of Electricity.
Engineer Hussam Abu al-Hill, a member of the Basra Provincial Council, criticized the purchase of electricity from the investment stations in Basra.
"The local government is buying electric power in one annual contract that is enough to build an electric power plant with the same capacity," Abu al-Hill said.
He said that "the government buys from the Haritha power plant investment 100 megawatts with a contract estimated at 70 million dollars and this amount is enough to set up a government power station."
He pointed out that "most investment projects in the province are consumer projects and not investment because there is no vision for the benefit of the people of the province in those projects."
Abu al-Hill pointed out that there are "many suspicions" about the issue of buying electricity, stressing that "every project does not benefit the people of Basra is a suspicious project."
He said that "beneficial investment projects that do not find acceptable to the men of the state in the province of Basra, we have not seen a presence on the ground, such as housing projects in the province of Basra are projects are not supported because they are directly related to the welfare of the citizen."
Al-Haritha and Al-Shuaiba stations project is being implemented as an investment project at a cost of $ 70 million for Al-Haritha Station, with the installation of a 150-megawatt station at a cost of $ 175 million in the Shuaiba area.
The representative of the company Akram Fran said that "the two projects implemented since 2011 within an investment contract," noting that the company "specializes in the processing of investment energy only."
"The projects are completed on the ground and are fully powered within the investment contract signed with the local government and the investment authority in the province," he said.
It is noteworthy that the province of Basra (about 590 km south of Baghdad), there are five large power plants, all working under design capacity because of its feet, the thermal heather station established by the company "Mitsubishi" in Japan in 1979, and the station Nujebeh thermal established by the company "Technoprom Export" Russian in 1974, and the Khor Zubair gas station established by a German company in 1977, and the Shuaiba gas station established by the company "Alostom" French in 1973.
