The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, Saturday, that her bilateral meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, revealed deep differences between the two countries members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
"The many arrests, all Turkey's actions and the refusal to allow the Incirlik base visit all show deep differences, and we did not hide them at the table," Merkel told reporters at the end of the two-day G20 summit in Hamburg.
Merkel said Erdogan and his country Turkey had actively participated in the G20 summit and that members of the group recognized Turkey's contribution to nurturing millions of immigrants from Syria and Iraq.
