The Palestinian government described on Friday the measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities in Jerusalem following the attack on the Old City.
"These measures are terrorist practices that conflict with human values and norms and destroy international efforts and efforts" to revive the peace process, Palestinian government spokesman Tariq Rishmawi said in a statement.
The Israeli forces announced earlier today to prevent the Friday prayers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the first time in half a century, and also struck a military siege on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City.
The Israeli soldiers assaulted the mosque guards and confiscated their phones, removed the worshipers from the Aqsa Mosque and closed all doors.
The Israeli occupation forces arrested Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories Sheikh Mohammed Hussein in the Old City of Jerusalem, hours after the attack.
The incidents began early on Friday when three Palestinian youths attacked Israeli troops in the Old City and killed two of them, before they were shot by the police who pursued them inside the courtyards of al-Aqsa.
