US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley warned that Hezbollah, Lebanon strengthens its arsenal of weapons, demanding the international community to give due attention to the party and "pressure on him to disarm activities."
The statement came after a meeting of Halley's UN envoy to Lebanon Kaag on the eve of a meeting of the UN Security Council on the peacekeeping mission of the United Nations in Lebanon (UNIFIL) deployed in southern Lebanon.
US mission said at the United Nations in a statement that "Ambassador Haley sounded the alarm about the accumulation of Hezbollah weapons, and its threat to" Israel "."
The statement added that the US ambassador stressed the need that the international community to exercise "more pressure on Hezbollah to disarm and stop destabilizing behavior, especially towards Israel," as she put it.
Haley stressed the need to show UNIFIL "fully committed to addressing the threat posed by Hezbollah on Israel."
The United Nations rejected at the end of June last accusations by the Israeli entity to Hezbollah, Lebanon to expand its observation posts on the border under the guise of environmental non-governmental organization.
Hezbollah fought Lebanon wars several with the Israeli entity in southern Lebanon due to its occupation of large areas of the country, most recently in the summer of 2006, lasted 33 days and resulted in the fall of about 1,200 people in Lebanon, most of them innocent civilians, and 160 Israelis dead, mostly soldiers.
The war ended with the adoption of resolution 1701, which spread under which the Lebanese army in southern Lebanon, UNIFIL has been strengthened to impose full respect for the Blue Line in the border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine.
