US President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary James Matisse attended the inauguration ceremony of the military aircraft carrier Gerald Ford.
President Trump described the aircraft carrier Gerald Ford, the world's largest, as "an American symbol of power and influence."
He said the ship was a military deterrent. "The United States keeps the war from starting and guarantees victory in the event of war."
The aircraft carrier is scheduled to be operational in 2020, the first to join the US military fleet since 2009.
The aircraft carrier was named the 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford, who ruled from 1974 to 1977.
