Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: Iraqi Shiite Higher Islamic Council, headed by Ammar al-Hakeem, warned against the "gossips of divisions" of its known personalities, but "prefers" to describe the matter as "differences in opinions".

Lately, news was spread that veteran members of the Higher Council are planning to form new party, while other news reported that al-Hakeem was planning to form a new political entity to participate in the coming elections.

Jalal al-Deen al-Sagheer, the leading member in the Council, disclosed his "rejection" to continue to work, in addition to other two ministers, Adel Abdul Mehdi and Bayan Jabur Solagh, who joined the opposition on the policies of the Council.

The roots of the conflicts in the Higher Council, which was established in Iran in 1982, were the "acute competition" between the veteran and youth members.

It was reported that al-Hakeem wanted to pave the road before the youths in the political scene for the coming elections.

The Higher Council was criticized, lately, for initiating the "historical settlement" and was charged of trying to restore Baathist personalities to the political arena.

Leaked information said that the veterans held talks with Iranian officials in Teheran to form a new political party for the coming elections, as well as holding other meetings within the alliance to "minimize" the divisions, but other sources reported that these differences are "trivial" .

According to political analysts, the differences are on the views of the veterans and the youths form the coming stage, headed by the 40-year leader Ammar al-Hakeem who wanted the youth to be indulged in the political arena.

In 2011, al-Hakeem announced the formation of a new entity called "The Knights of Hope", out of his belief of the role of the youth in the coming stages.
