Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signed an agreement with Russia on the deal of "S-400" air defense systems, without revealing the details of the agreement.
Erdogan said during a meeting with legislators from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) on Tuesday that Washington expressed concern about the deal, which is being negotiated. Ankara wants a loan from the Russian side to finance the purchase of the missiles.
"We have taken steps and signed an agreement with Russia on S-400 missiles, and God willing, we will see S-400s in our country," he said.
Erdogan reiterated the concern of Washington and NATO over the integration of air defense systems of other NATO member countries with air defense systems made in Russia, recalling that Greece has been using the S-300 systems for years. "No one is making a fuss about this." / 9
