    Afghan interior announces transfer of Iraqi embassy staff to safe place

    The Iraqi Interior Ministry announced on Monday the transfer of Iraqi embassy staff in Kabul to a safe place after the suicide attack today.

    "The Interior Ministry officials confirmed that the suicide attack was carried out on the Iraqi embassy in Al-Ansari Square in the month of Awau in Kabul," the Afghan News Agency said in a statement.

    The agency quoted officials as saying that "four attackers were involved in the attack and their resistance to the security forces," referring to "the deployment of additional special forces to stop the attack."


    According to the agency, "preliminary reports indicate that the security guard of the embassy was killed and wounded others in the attack."

    According to the news agency, "the embassy personnel and staff were taken to a safe place."

    The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced earlier on Monday that it was pursuing with the Afghan authorities and friendly countries the rescue measures of the Iraqi embassy staff in Kabul.

    The Afghan news agency "Khama Press" on Monday, armed clashes near the compound of the Iraqi embassy in the capital Kabul after a suicide bombing adopted by the "Daash".
