Barzan al-Tikriti's family asks three countries to intervene to lift their money freeze and lift the travel ban

A document issued by the Foreign Ministry revealed that a request by Barzan al-Tikriti, a half-brother of former president Saddam Hussein, has been submitted to the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to lift the freeze on financial assets and to ban travel from the al-Tikriti family.
"The lawyers of Barzan Ibrahim Hassan al-Tikriti's family are asking to be removed from the list of those who are covered by the freezing of financial assets and the travel ban under Security Council Resolution No. (2), signed by the Interior Ministry's senior agent, Nizar Khairallah. 1518 of 2003 ".
She explained that "the lawyer was based on what he says about the termination of the justification for including these sanctions after 13 years and the freezing of their assets in Switzerland in their bank accounts referred to in the petition, without the confiscation of the Swiss authorities."
"The names of the al-Tikriti family are Mohammed Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti, Sajee Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti, Ali Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti, Nour Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti and his successor Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti."
"The application was sent from the lawyer to Libya, Turkey and Qatar, as the countries where the Barzan al-Tikriti family is naturalized, to obtain information or comments about the Tikriti family's request and to talk to Iraq if they so wish," she said.
It is noteworthy that Barzan al-Tikriti, was the head of the intelligence service under the rule of the Baath Party, was executed on January 15, 2007, after being convicted of the case of the execution of 148 people in Dujail.
