The Security and Defense Committee revealed on Thursday a meeting with the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Haider Abadi on the delivery of international strategic routes to foreign companies, stressing the possibility of handing over border crossings to any party without reference to parliament.
"The foreign roads and ports are considered in all countries sovereign and can not be handed over to any party, but the government has failed in its sovereignty without any consultations with the Security and Defense Committee on the subject," said Iskandar and Tutt.
He added that "the committee sent a request to Prime Minister Haider Abadi to ask him to set a date soon to discuss the terms of the agreement and what procedures are followed and share those partnerships from those ports and a lot of questions."
"The government can not conclude external security agreements, whether with foreign governments or companies, without referring to parliament for a vote according to the constitution," he said. Sf
