Yemeni forces expel al-Qaeda from Shabwa's second largest city

The elite forces of the legitimate forces in Yemen took control of the southern city of Ezzan, the second largest city in Shabwa province, after they expelled al-Qaeda elements from the city, our correspondent said Thursday.
Elite forces entered the city under the air cover of the coalition, after receiving training from its forces in Mukalla.

The forces deployed in the security and military headquarters in the city and created checkpoints in the streets to stabilize the security and stability in the city, while the other forces headed towards Habban Directorate in the same governorate.

On Wednesday evening, al-Qaeda militants launched a suicide attack on a military barracks belonging to the elite forces in the district of Rezum in Shabwa followed by an armed attack, killing seven soldiers and injuring 8 others.
