US Attorney General Announces Four Suspects Confiscated

    Date of release: 2017/8/4

    [Where - Continue]
US Attorney General Jeff Sessions said four people were facing charges of leaking state information.
The four were accused of illegally disclosing classified information or concealing contacts with foreign intelligence officials, Sessions said.
The Justice Department said his ministry has tripled the number of leaks since January after Donald Trump's administration was installed as president.
Trump had criticized Sessions for failing to deal firmly with the leaks.
"No administration will be effective when its leaders can not speak freely and confidently with foreign leaders," the justice minister told a news conference.
There has been a "significant" increase in recent months in leaks of news and information that are not allowed to the media and even to foreign opponents.
The Minister of Justice joined the Director of National Intelligence, Dan Kout, who issued a stern warning to those responsible for the leaks.
"Anyone involved in these criminal acts betrayes the intelligence services and the American people," he said.
He stressed that he would do everything in my power as director of national intelligence "to hold these people accountable."
"Do you understand, if you are involved in wrongly disclosing classified information, we will find you, we will investigate with you, we will sue you with the long arm of law, and the outcome will not make you happy."
