In the most serious accusation of Iran, Al-Awadi revealed that "what happened in the city of Samarra from the bombing of the Shrine of the Imams of the military, many reports that there are interests, cells or terrorist groups entered from Iran, or with knowledge or otherwise, we do not know."

On February 22, 2006, the bombing of the Imam Ali al-Hadi and al-Hasan al-Askari shrine in Samarra sparked sectarian strife in Iraq, where Baghdad was the scene of the most violent burning of mosques and the killing of civilians on identity.

The accusation of the leader of the Sadrist movement to Iran, days after a visit raised a lot of controversy conducted by the leader of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, Moqtada al-Sadr to Saudi Arabia.
