Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accused Germany on Monday of helping terrorists not respond to thousands of files sent to Berlin or hand over wanted suspects to the Turkish authorities.
"Germany is helping the terrorists," Erdogan said at a conference in the Black Sea province of Rize in comments likely to escalate tension between the two countries.
"We gave [Angela Merkel] 4500 a file but we did not get an answer to any of them," he told his AK Party members.
"When there is a terrorist, they can tell us to return that person, you will not send the terrorists you have, but you can ask us to do so," he said. "Do you have a judicial system and not us in Turkey?"
