    The Central Bank prohibits dealing with Iraqi banks with North Korea




    The central bank called on Wednesday to ban Iraqi banks from dealing with North Korea, citing the UN Security Council resolutions on the prohibition of dealing with them.

    "All banks and non-bank financial institutions must take caution and not deal with North Korea in any form of banking or financial transactions," the bank said in a statement received by the economy.

    "This is based on UN Security Council resolutions on the prohibition of dealing with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)," the bank said.

    Central Bank warns banks to deal with North Korea


    BAGHDAD - The central bank on Wednesday called for a ban on dealing with North Korea by Iraqi banks, citing the UN Security Council resolutions on the prohibition of dealing with it.

    The bank said in a statement received by "Iraq News", that "all banks and non-bank financial institutions, taking caution and not to deal with North Korea in any form of banking and financial transactions."

    "This is based on UN Security Council resolutions on the prohibition of dealing with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)," the bank said.

    On August 5, 2017, the UN Security Council unanimously approved a US draft resolution imposing new sanctions on North Korea, in response to its continued ballistic missile tests. Finished 2
