Call to postpone Kurdish referendum for one year, Minister

Arbil/ Iraq TradeLink: Kurdish Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar Majeed called for postponing the referendum for another year, stressing the necessity to guarantee the food security in the region in advance if the neighboring countries closed their borders or cut off the water supply.
He pointed that this delay will give the Kurdish government ample time to provide food and water security for the region.
Baghdad, Teheran and Ankara rejected the Kurdish referendum in advance.
On the other hand, Kurdish Foreign Relations Responsible Falah Mustapha called Turkey and Iran not to support Baghdad failing policies.
He pointed that independence move will not affect the interests of these two counties, with expectation that the new Kurdish government will be their ally.
