Tillerson: Washington is determined to pursue "terrorists" in the world
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Thursday that the United States is determined to pursue the world's terrorists.
"I would like to start by mentioning the incident in Barcelona that appears to be the hallmarks of another terrorist attack," Tillerson said at the start of a joint news conference with Japanese officials. "The United States is ready to assist the Spanish authorities in its investigation and has confirmed Washington's commitment to pursuing terrorists around the world."
"Terrorists around the world must know that the United States and its allies are determined to pursue them and bring them to justice," he said, without giving further details.
The incident in the Spanish city of Barcelona killed and injured more than ninety people.
The United States has been leading a global war against al Qaeda for more than a decade, and for more than two years has been leading an alliance against a militant organization in Iraq and Syria.
