Gold prices soaring ahead of conference of international banks

Gold prices rose on Wednesday, buoyed by worries about political uncertainty in the United States ahead of a central bank conference this week.
Spot gold rose 0.2 percent to $ 1286.77 an ounce by 0926 GMT after falling 0.5 percent in the previous session.
The price of gold in futures trading in the US was unchanged at $ 1292 an ounce.
For other precious metals, silver fell 0.2 percent to $ 17 an ounce, while platinum fell 0.3 percent to $ 976.90 an ounce.
Palladium lost 0.3 percent to $ 935 an ounce after touching $ 940 yesterday, its highest level in more than 16 years.
