    (Reuters) - Iraqi citizens came first in terms of foreigners buying real estate in Turkey last July, the statistics agency said on Thursday.
    In a statement, the foundation said in an official statement that the Iraqis who topped the list bought 293 properties, while the Saudis came second with 248 properties, then the Kuwaiti citizens bought 142 properties, then the Russians 118 properties and then the British 76 properties.
    Foreign property sales in Turkey rose by 65.3 percent in July compared to the same month in 2016, it said, showing a total of 1,726 sales.
    It added that the city of Istanbul was the most Turkish cities sale of real estate to foreigners last month with the number of properties sold 528 properties followed by (Antalya) number 386 and Trabzon number 121 Vburzp 102, and 100 hands and Yalawa 80 properties.
    In terms of sales of real estate in Turkey in general, the data showed that it also rose during the month of July by 42.4 percent compared to the same month last year with the sale of 115,869 properties throughout Turkey.
    According to the data, Istanbul came first among the most selling Turkish real estate in July with sales of 1,883 properties followed by Ankara with 11669 properties, followed by (Izmir) with 6509 properties, while the city of Ardahan reached the bottom of the list with sales of eight properties.

    Iraqis beat the Russians and the English by buying Turkish houses




    Iraqis ranked first and Saudis ranked second in the list of Turkey's most home buyers in the past month.

    In a report on real estate sales across the country last month, the Turkish Statistics Agency said that Iraqis ranked first, Saudis ranked second, Kuwaitis ranked third, Russians ranked fourth and English ranked fifth.

    According to the authority, the number of houses sold to Iraqi citizens was 293 houses, followed by citizens of Saudi Arabia with 248 houses, and then the citizens of Kuwait with 142 houses, while "Russian citizens bought 118 houses, and the English 76 houses.

    The number of homes sold to foreigners throughout Turkey rose by 65.3 percent in July compared to the same month last year.

    Istanbul topped the list of Turkish cities, with 528 houses sold, followed by Antalya with 386 houses, Trabzon with 121 houses, Bursa 102, Aydin 100 and Yalova with 80.

    Turkey is considered one of the most desirable political destinations for Iraqis, because of its proximity to the country, and the cheapness of goods and rents in them. Every summer, hundreds of Iraqi families visit tourist cities in Turkey.
