BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's Grain Board has bought 100,000 tonnes of wheat from the United States and Australia in an international tender, European experts said on Thursday.

"Iraq has bought 50,000 tons of wheat from the United States and 50,000 tons from Australia, and the tender has sought to obtain wheat from the United States or Australia only," the European Commission said.

"The tender was closed on Sunday and the offers were valid until Thursday, August 24," she said. "American wheat was purchased in full from $ 297 per ton. Australian wheat was purchased at $ 298.77 per tonne."

"The shipping and delivery period is 75 days after the letter of credit has been opened," traders said.
