The financial adviser to the Prime Minister, the appearance of Mohammed Saleh, on Sunday, that the visit of Saudi Minister of Trade and Investment, Majid al-Kasabi, is the beginning of the opening of Iraq's economy to the economy of the Gulf states.
Saleh said in an interview with «Economy News», that «the visit of the Saudi Minister of Trade and Investment to Baghdad recently, is conducive to the development of economic relations between the two neighboring countries and restore the ties of normal relations between all neighboring countries», considering this visit «a new beginning of the opening of Iraq's economy to the economies of countries Gulf and Neighborhood.
He pointed out that «Iraqi-Saudi relations will achieve the mutual benefit and mutual interests of Iraq with all countries and on the basis of parity and the emergence of an atmosphere of long-term stability in trade relations, investment and economic in various fields and the fundamental levels of these ties».
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Minister of Trade and Investment Majid bin Abdullah al-Qasabi, visited Baghdad August 23, 2017, and stressed his country's desire to correct what he described the previous tracks with Iraq, during his visit to Baghdad.
He met with Prime Minister Haider Abadi. The visit comes with finalizing the opening of the border crossing between the two countries, as Saudi Arabia seeks to open new horizons of trade and economic cooperation with Iraq after a break of 27 years.
