Shafaq News / A member of the parliamentary security and defense committee said on Friday that changing some field commanders is not a solution to stop violence in Iraq, calling for a change in the structure of the crisis cell concerned in identifying the strategic security.

“The terrorists today are in control not the security forces, as what happened is a complete failure in the security file, we demanded for several times to change strategy not the commanders in the field,” Shwan Taha told “Shafaq News”.

“What is needed is changing the structure of the crisis cell, as Iraq does not need more security forces in terms of the number and equipment, but it lacks strategies that cope with the current reality”.

“If hundreds of soldiers have been deployed in the streets and carried out security operations this will not stop the bombings, the used strategy must be changed,” he added.

Baghdad witnessed on Wednesday a series of car bomb explosions targeting mostly civilians and communities that left dozens dead and wounded.

The Iraqi security authorities launched last month a broad security plan to stop violence, but it did not benefit yet.
