Trump cancels Obama order for US police

US President Donald Trump canceled an executive order for his predecessor, Barack Obama, which ended the "curtailment" of US police.

This was stated by US Attorney General Jeff Sessions, in a speech to a crowd of police, the media estimated the census, about 5,000 people in the city of Nashville, Tennessee.

"I am here to announce that the president is signing an executive order, later today, it will make it easier to protect yourselves and your regions," Sessions said.

The new order "eliminates the restrictions set by the previous administration, which reduced the capacity of your institutions (police) access to equipment, through federal programs."

According to Sessions, "this equipment may include bullet shields, helmets, ambulance equipment and initial rescue."

In May 2015, former US President Barack Obama issued an executive order preventing the US military from diverting any equipment beyond its need for police.

Obama's decision to reduce police militancy came after he was criticized for using anti-riot tools against demonstrators in Ferguson, Missouri, who protested against the killing of 18-year-old Black American Michael Brown by a white policeman. Finished
