    The US coalition acknowledges the killing of 61 civilians in its strikes in Iraq

    WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The US-led coalition against a militant organization confirmed on Friday that 61 more civilians were killed in strikes in Iraq and Syria, raising the number of civilians who have been confirmed to have killed 685 since the fighting began.
    "In July, 37 reports were reported on the killing of civilians," the coalition said in a statement. "He found that 13 of them were credible and that an estimated 61 civilians were killed by mistake."
    "The coalition is currently investigating 455 other reports of civilian deaths due to artillery shelling or air strikes. The coalition has so far acknowledged the deaths of at least 685 civilians killed by aerial bombardment or artillery since its operations began in August 2014.
