Gifts "crazy" provided by Saudi Arabia to Trump What is it?

Arabic and international   Tuesday, 05 September 2017

The US DailyPast described the gifts Saudi Arabia gave to US President Donald Trump as "crazy gifts."

In a special report seen by Sky Press, the website said it had received a list of gifts Saudi Arabia gave to Trump during his visit to Riyadh in May.

According to the site, the Kingdom has provided 83 gifts, including art work including his image, in addition to swords, daggers, wallets and leather cases.

The list also included furs for Nimr and Fahd, and a silver dagger with a sheath of pearl.

One of the presents was a work of art portraying a "Saudi woman" as a stranger to a country where women are in crisis over their fundamental rights.

"Trump's decision to visit Saudi Arabia first clearly indicates his top priority for America's most profitable relations with its first weapons client," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch. The world, is unaware that these weapons kill civilians in Yemen. "

"Trump embraced Saudi Arabia, not only by adopting standard arms deals with it, but by deliberately refusing to criticize the country's controversial human rights record and the reckless and disastrous military campaign against Yemen," she said.
