A UN official calls on Saudi Arabia to end its military campaign and requires it to fund aid to Yemen

    09:35 - 05/09/2017

A senior UN official said Saudi Arabia should take care of humanitarian aid to Yemen alone. "Saudi Arabia alone should finance the treatment of diseases and hunger that is ravaging Yemen. Riyadh has been leading its military campaign for two and a half years," AFP quoted WFP Executive Director David Bisley as saying. The United Arab Emirates blamed the killing of half of Yemen's child victims and called on the kingdom to end its military campaign, accusing it of "obstructing aid." Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has led an Arab military alliance supporting the government of Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi in the face of the Huthis and their ally, former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who control northern Yemen, including the capital Sana'a.
