Kuwait has pledged $ 1.5 million in emergency aid to Myanmar's Muslim minority aimed at alleviating the suffering of Myanmar's Muslims and helping them cope with the harsh conditions they face.

The Kuwait Ministry of Awqaf said in a statement that "successive convoys will be operated in cooperation with bodies accredited by the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry to provide aid, food parcels and clothing and tents for refugees on the border of Myanmar with Bangladesh.

The Ministry of Awqaf called on "the benefactors of the people of Kuwait and the residents of its good land to donate to the relief of their Muslim brothers in Myanmar, as it is usually the people of Kuwait to provide a helping hand to all needy."
