    The Arab League has entered into a line of contention between Baghdad and the Kurdistan region over the planned withdrawal later this month.

    In a related context, a spokesman for Prime Minister Haider Abadi said that the Iraqi government "wants to prevent the referendum to maintain the unity of the country."

    The presidency stressed that the president "is interested in the need for more dialogue between the parties to the political process and all Iraqis to resolve any differences or problems pending or emergency," expressing its rejection of "attempts to question the positions of the President in principle and fixed, which emphasizes the priority to uphold the principles of the Constitution."
    The presidency considered that "the unfortunate press statements made or repeated by some in this regard involve a blatant misrepresentation of the public opinion and inciting sometimes dishonorable against the presidency of the republic." The presidency renewed "the call to take care to launch such irresponsible statements that may harm the reputation and security of the country and its supreme interests, regardless of the narrow self-motivation of its owners."
