Transportation announces the end of the air observers' strike

The Ministry of Transport announced Wednesday the end of the air strike.
"Transport Minister Kazem Al-Yamami discussed with members of the Parliamentary Services Committee a radical solution to the issue of air control," the Transport Ministry said in a statement received by the Journal News.
"The meeting discussed the procedures of the ministry towards the air controllers and their demands and the possibility of achieving them. The observers were informed of the outcome of the meeting and the strike was ended on the basis of the recommendations issued by the meeting and conveyed to them."
"The observers expressed their thanks to the Minister of Transport for his positive interaction with their demands, as well as commended the efforts of members of the Parliamentary Services Committee and their attempts to reach points of convergence between the two parties."
It is noteworthy that the air controllers, decided on (May 21, 2017) to stop the air control of civilian aircraft exclusively at Iraqi airports, while noting that they continue to provide air navigation services for military aircraft to sustain the momentum of the victories.
