MOSCOW (Reuters) - Moscow plans to transport 4,000 tons of building materials to rehabilitate infrastructure in the liberated areas of the country, the Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
"Moscow will send more than 4,000 tons of building materials and special construction equipment to Syria to rehabilitate the infrastructure in the liberated areas of terrorists," the Russian news agency SPOTNK quoted a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry as saying.
"The Russian military administration is currently delivering construction materials and equipment by rail to the port of Novorossiysk to be transported to Syria by sea," it said.
Russia will also send more than 40 units of heavy construction equipment from bulldozers, excavators and cranes to start repairs, as well as more than 2,000 tons of metal pipes and other materials to rehabilitate water projects, hundreds of kilometers of electrical wiring for power supply and communication system, and building materials for restoration Construction of hospitals, schools and social facilities
