[rtl]Sumer News: Basra provincial council warned of the continuation of fighting and fighting between the tribes, which may pose a threat to oil installations, denying at the same time disrupt the work of oil companies in the fields of Qurna "east and west" and crazy .[/rtl]
[rtl]The province of Basra on Monday, violent confrontations between the tribes in the Qurna district, prompting warnings of threats may affect the work of oil facilities .[/rtl]
[rtl]The head of the security committee in the Basra provincial council Jabbar al-Saadi, said that "the proportion of fighting among the tribes of Basra decreased significantly to 30 percent after it had reached during the past years 90 percent." "The tribes are struggling to pressure some oil companies to get jobs in those companies, and the drug trade has become one of the reasons behind armed tribal conflicts ."[/rtl]
[rtl]Rising violence and clan fighting threaten to undermine government plans to attract new investment in the oil and gas sector needed to revive an economy hit by increased security spending and the destruction left by an organization calling for an "Islamic state ."[/rtl]
[rtl]Saadi attributed the security chaos in Basra to the preoccupation of the Iraqi security forces in the war against armed militants. He said that the Iraqi army is part of the military units in the city of Mosul. The Iraqi police battalions participate in the operations against Daqash in the city of Samarra in Salahuddin province, which created a military vacuum currently suffering from Basra. Dislocation and continued fighting for several months . "[/rtl]
[rtl]Our correspondent received a video documenting the armed clashes between the tribes of Basra province .[/rtl]
[rtl]The province of Basra is the most important source of Iraqi oil, but it has seen a significant increase in poverty rates from 2007 to 2011, while there are no statistics for the years after 2011, but indicators indicate that poverty levels are rising and growing in Basra with high levels of oil exports from the province itself .[/rtl]
[rtl]Basra is witnessing occasional tribal armed conflicts that often result in deaths and injuries, although it is considered one of the relatively safe provinces in Iraq .[/rtl]
[rtl]The head of the oil and gas in the province of Basra Ali Shaddad said, "Tribal conflicts did not pose a threat to the work of oil facilities that continue to produce in all fields ."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added that fighting between the tribes occurs near the oil facilities located in remote areas of Basra province and close to the housing of some tribes, which are trying to exploit the security situation is unstable in those areas and armed operations often occur. But "armed conflicts between the tribes did not pose any threat to the moment on the work of oil companies, which still exist and did not leave Basra any foreign company ."[/rtl]
[rtl]He stressed that tribal clashes often occur near the fields of East and West Qurna and crazy, while the Iraqi government is currently seeking to confront tribes that try to confuse the security situation and will be held accountable all parties that threaten the work of oil installations .[/rtl]
[rtl]Stabilizing Basra, the largest city in southern Iraq on the Gulf, is very important to it as an oil export hub that generates more than 95 percent of government revenues .[/rtl]
