"The government's commitment to the peaceful solution to the crisis with the Kurdistan region, despite the insistence of some parties in the region to escalate, noting that the international and popular rejection of the separation of the region form a major support to the central government in its rejection.
"The central government will not dare to armed conflict despite the threat of Iraq's unity to avoid the bloodshed of Iraq in a national war," committee member Ahmad al-Badri said in a statement obtained by Trend Press.
He added that "the decision of the Federal Court and the refusal to hold a referendum in the Kurdistan region, as well as the federal parliament and the broad international rejection of secession gave a major impetus to the central government in its position and weaken the aspirations of Kurdistan Regional President Massoud Barzani separation."
Al-Badri said that "holding the referendum on time will become an illegal and unrecognized measure locally, regionally and internationally and will embarrass the Kurdish situation directly."
