Iraqi army chief of staff Osman al-Ghanmi arrived in the Turkish capital Ankara on Saturday.
"The Iraqi army chief of staff Osman al-Ghanmi arrived in Ankara to meet his Turkish counterpart Khulosi Akkar," the Anatolia news agency reported.
This comes at a time when Turkey announced the conduct of its military exercises in the state of Sharnaq adjacent to the border with Iraq, after the announcement of the Kurdistan region of his intention to hold a referendum on secession on the twenty-fifth of September.
