Iran's unprecedented statements about Saudi Arabia
Baghdad
announced that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif , on Thursday, that his country respects the role of Riyadh in the region, indicating that it is ready to work with Saudi Arabia for the security of the region. "We have no illusions about the possibility of excluding the Saudi role from the region,
" Zarif said in New York . "We believe that Saudi Arabia is a very important player in the region that must be respected."
"We expect Saudi Arabia to recognize that we are an important player in the region ," Zarif said. "We must work together for the security of this region and we are ready to work together to achieve this goal."
