[rtl]A number of North Korean missiles have been detected from a missile facility in the capital Pyongyang amid speculation that North Korea is preparing[/rtl]
[rtl]The report quoted an unnamed intelligence source as saying that South Korean and American intelligence officials had discovered missiles being transported away from a North Korean missile research and development facility in Sanom-dong in the northern region of Pyongyang.[/rtl]
[rtl]The report did not specify when the rockets would be moved, or where the missiles were transferred. "[/rtl]
[rtl]The report said the missiles were either medium-range Huasong-12 missiles or intercontinental ballistic missiles of the Huasong-14, although the Sanomdong missile facility was designed to produce intercontinental ballistic missiles.[/rtl]
[rtl]A source from the South Korean Defense Ministry said he could not confirm the details of the report, or whether there were any unusual activities in the area.[/rtl]
[rtl]South Korean officials have expressed concern that North Korea could carry out other provocative actions near the anniversary of the Communist Party's founding on Oct. 10, or perhaps when China convenes its ruling Communist Party (KDP) convention on Oct. 18.[/rtl]
