    [rtl]Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia announced the revival of the rock fuel investment project, which was frozen two years ago due to popular protests.[/rtl]
    [rtl]"The government is encouraging investment in hydrocarbons, especially rock fuels," Ouyahia said on the sidelines of an economic event in the coastal province of Oran, west of the capital. "We have capabilities in this area."[/rtl]
    [rtl]Algeria launched exploration and exploration in two rocky gas wells in Ain Salih (south of the capital) in 2015, but stopped the activity because of protests and popular and political rejection of the project, claiming to be hazardous to the environment.[/rtl]
    [rtl]"The state oil company Sonatrach is capable of conveying the idea that investing in rock fuels is not an adventure," he added. "It will also ensure the continued promotion of national energy revenues."[/rtl]
    [rtl]The International Energy Agency (IEA), one of the world's three largest reserves of recoverable shale gas, after China and Argentina, has stockpiled more than 20 billion cubic meters.[/rtl]
    [rtl]"The investment in the rock field will ensure the continuation of the promotion of income," he said. "Oil will remain the main engine of the national economy and will accompany the government to launch its projects."[/rtl]
    [rtl]Algeria is a gas-rich country, with gas exports last year reaching 54 billion cubic meters, according to official figures and seeking to reach 57 billion cubic meters by the end of this year.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Algeria is connected to Europe via three gas pipelines crossing the Mediterranean Sea. The first passes through Tunisia on the Italian island of Sicily, the second through Moroccan territory to Spain, and the Medgaz pipeline connecting Algeria to Almeria, in southern Spain. [/rtl]
