    South Korea's exports rose 35 percent in September, according to government data released on Sunday, due to strong demand for semiconductors and screens.
    South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported that data from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy showed that the value of exports amounted to 55.1 billion dollars in September, compared with 40.8 billion dollars in the same month in 2016.
    Last September's export volume was the biggest in South Korea in a month.
    Imports also rose 21.7 percent to 41.4 billion dollars last month.
    The trade surplus was $ 31.8 billion, with South Korea recording its exports exceeding 68 percent in a row.
    South Korea's exports to China, Seoul's largest export market, rose 23.4 percent last month to 13.52 billion dollars, while exports to Vietnam rose 69.4 percent.
    South Korean exports to Japan rose for the 11th month in a row by 16 percent last month.
    South Korea's exports to the EU rose 23 percent last month.
    Exports to the United States rose by 28.9% last September for the third consecutive month. The trade surplus with the world's largest economy rose to $ 2.65 billion last month.
    Quarterly exports to Asia's largest economy rose 24 percent to $ 151 billion from July to September, the biggest quarterly increase since the first quarter of 2011. 25
