    [rtl]The New Orleans City Council issued an order to evacuate some areas and impose a curfew before the arrival of tropical storm Nate.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The mayor of New Orleans told a news conference the curfew would take effect from Saturday night until Sunday morning.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The states of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi have declared a state of emergency as the storm moved toward the US Gulf Coast after leaving at least 22 dead in Central America.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The US National Hurricane Center said the storm was expected to gain additional strength in the next 36 hours to become a hurricane upon its arrival in the northern Gulf of Mexico.[/rtl]
    The center said the storm was about 1035 kilometers southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River and was carrying winds of up to 95 kilometers per hour.
