A source familiar with the Ministry of Electricity, on Wednesday, the reason for the delay in the salaries of some employees of the ministry and the amount of debt accumulated by the participants of all categories.
The source said the «Journal News» that "the reason for delayed payment of salaries of some of the employees of the ministry is the result of a series of procedures and central directives by the Ministry of Finance based on the budget law for 2017 paragraph (21), including reliance on the resources of self-collection, especially ministries of central finance" .
He added that "the reluctance of citizens to pay the bills of electricity consumption has put a heavy burden on the ministry, which is the main source of salaries," noting that "the volume of debt accumulated by the government departments and citizens as subscription bills throughout the country amounted to (2) trillion and (600) ) Million Iraqi dinars. "
