Basra - Journal News
Basra Court of Appeal approved the deduction of 1% of the funds collected by border crossings.
The provincial governor of Basra, Faleh al-Khazali told the "Journal News" on Thursday, that "those funds deducted was suspended because of a judicial order, which was at the disposal of the local government." 
Basra is in a severe financial crisis.

 Basra Governor Asaad al-Eidani said on Thursday that the governor's treasury is empty of money except salaries of employees, while referring to the formation of a meeting with Prime Minister Haider Abadi on the financial dues of the province.
"We have formed a committee of the local government and the provincial council to go to Baghdad and meet with Prime Minister Haider Abadi to resolve the issue of financial receivables for the province, which did not take Full share ".
"The province of Basra is in dire need of sufficient funds to walk the projects stalled years ago," he said, "the development of a broad strategic plan is the restoration of services and the development of infrastructure."
The member of the Basra provincial council Ahmed al-Sulaiti described earlier reports of government committees sent from Baghdad on the conditions of Basra and its projects that it was disappointing. Ending / 15
