    [ltr]Turkish authorities on Saturday issued orders to arrest some 100 former police officers, arresting 63 of them as part of a wide-ranging campaign following the attempted coup last year.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The Anatolia news agency reported that the Turkish authorities arrested 63 former police officers out of 100 who were arrested on suspicion of using the "Bay Lock" application of encrypted messages which the government says the network of US preacher Fethullah Gulen used.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Ankara accuses Gulen of masterminding the coup attempt in July last year, while the last resident in Pennsylvania since 1999 denies involvement in the attempted coup.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Since the attempted coup d'état on July 15, 2016, more than 50,000 people have been detained for trial on suspicion of links to Gulen, while 150,000 have been dismissed or suspended from the military, public and private sectors.[/ltr]
