    Representatives of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) said on Tuesday that their deputies voting on the referendum on the separation of Kurdistan region from Iraq did not commit a crime to prevent them from attending the sessions of the Iraqi parliament.
    "The members of the Democratic Party are still deputies in the Iraqi parliament and did not commit a crime or violation of constitutional and legal to be prevented from attending parliamentary sessions," MP Najiba Najib said in a statement to the Journal News.
    "The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) voted for a referendum on the separation of Kurdistan region from Iraq, which is a constitutional and legal right."
    She pointed out that she "represented the people of Dohuk in accordance with all ethical, parliamentary and legal standards," and pointed out that "the heads of the Kurdish blocs are studying the presence of Kurdish deputies or not in parliamentary sessions."
    She asked: "What is required of the presence of Kurdish deputies to the meetings of parliament if not reconsider the decisions taken towards the region."
