    [ltr]Follow up of Mawazine News[/ltr]
[ltr]Oil prices rallied on Tuesday to keep gains as the conflict between Iraqi and Kurdish forces threatens supplies from northern Iraq as political tensions between the United States and Iran mount.[/ltr]
[ltr]After oil trading in a relatively limited range for several months, during which production cuts led by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) bolstered crude prices, while curbing US production increases, prices moved up sharply this month.[/ltr]
[ltr]By 0730 GMT, the benchmark Brent crude rose 5 cents to $ 57.87 a barrel, up about a third from mid-year levels. West Texas Intermediate crude was little changed to settle at $ 51.78 a barrel.[/ltr]
[ltr]Iraqi forces took control of the Kurdish-controlled oil city of Kirkuk on Monday in response to a referendum in which Kurds voted for secession. Unconfirmed reports said Kurdish forces had halted production of about 350,000 barrels per day of oil from key fields.[/ltr]
[ltr]Tensions between the United States and Iran are increasing, raising the global risk premium for oil[/ltr]
