The former US ambassador to the United Nations and Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, said Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi had begun to ignore Washington's warnings about the crisis between Baghdad and Erbil.
Washington calls for a serious dialogue between Baghdad and Erbil to resolve the forms of recent eruption and caused armed clashes in some locations.
The Iraqi government has paid its armed forces, backed by elements of popular mobilization close to Iran, and has said it is working to redeploy in the disputed areas.
However, the government of Kurdistan said today that Baghdad wants to reach the 1991 borders established by the United Nations on the regime of Saddam Hussein during the period of Kurdish autonomy.
Khalilzad said in tweets on Twitter that Iraqi forces attacked the Kurds in Makhmour and Rabia early in the morning. But they - the Iraqi forces - suffered heavy losses "It seems that the visit of Tillerson did not achieve what is required."
US Secretary of State Rick Tillerson arrived on Monday and met with the prime minister and the Iraqi government.
"The most important goal now is an immediate halt to the Baghdad-Tehran-led military attacks against the Iraqi Kurds as they seek to get to the border point with Ibrahim Khalil," Khalilzad said.
"It seems that Abadi, who ignores American insistence and warning, wants to restore that region before his visit to Turkey," the US diplomat said.
Abadi is scheduled to visit Ankara on Wednesday.
Ibrahim Khalil, a crossing linking Kurdistan Iraq to Turkey, and is considered a portal to breathe from the region, especially in light of its differences with the central government in Baghdad.
And highlighted the crossing after the imposition of the Turkish authorities tight measures, in conjunction with the referendum of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on 25 September 2017.
