[ltr]Oil prices held steady on Wednesday near a four-week high hit on Tuesday after Saudi Arabia said it was determined to end the oil supply gap.[/ltr]
[ltr]By 0646 GMT, world benchmark crude <LCOc1> was up 8 cents to $ 58.41 a barrel after settling on Tuesday, up 96 cents, or 1.7 percent.[/ltr]
[ltr]WTI crude was trading down 9 cents to $ 52.38 a barrel.[/ltr]
[ltr]Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said on Wednesday the focus remained on cutting oil stocks in industrialized countries to an average of five years and increased the possibility of extended production restrictions after the OPEC-led cut in production cuts.[/ltr]
[ltr]OPEC, Russia and nine other producers have cut oil production by 1.8 million bpd since January. The deal will last until March 2018, but they are looking to extend it.[/ltr]
[ltr]The US Petroleum Institute said US crude inventories rose by 519 thousand barrels last week against analysts' forecasts of a drop of 2.6 million barrels.[/ltr]
