    A report by the United States, the number of elements that joined the organization of the state, according to countries and geographical distribution, pointing out that Russia ranked first, while Saudi Arabia came second.

     

    The US consultancy Soufan reported that Russia tops the list of countries with the highest number of foreign fighters who went to fight in Syria and Iraq and joined the state organization.

     

    He pointed out that the number of Russian fighters in the organization reached (3417) fighters, Saudi Arabia came second (3244) people, then Jordan (3000), Tunisia (2926), and then France (1910).

     

    As for numbers returning from Syria and Iraq, 400 people returned to Russia, 760 to Saudi Arabia, 250 to Jordan, 800 to Tunisia and 271 to France.

     

    "While it will be difficult to assess the threat posed by foreign fighters and returnees, they will challenge many countries for years to come," the report said.

     

    It is estimated that more than 40,000 foreign fighters have joined the so-called state organization, from more than 110 countries, before and after the "Caliphate Declaration" in June 2014.

     

    The report also confirmed that there has been a significant increase in the number of women who have been enrolled in the organization, in addition to the high number of children born there.

     

    "Since 2015, there has been a marked increase in the number of foreign women and children traveling to Syria and Iraq, as well as in the case of children born in areas controlled by the Da'ash," the report said.
