Informed sources said that there were understandings between Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qasim Soleimani, while confirming their agreement to involve the crowd in the elections.

This came in the context of a report prepared by the Saudi newspaper Okaz, saying that "Abadi and Sulaimani agreed during their meeting yesterday in Baghdad, to postpone the elections to allow the government to search for legal arguments to allow the mobilization to participate, which led to the Prime Minister to instruct some Parliamentary blocs to resort to the Federal Court to obtain a judicial order allows all political forces to participate. "

Adding that "understandings reached between the Prime Minister Haider Abadi and the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Guard Qassem Soleimani, allowing the popular mobilization, to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, after he declared that the mobilization of a security institution is not entitled to participate in the elections, which Angered the leadership of the "crowd" that rejected the decision of Abbadi.

The report concluded that "effective movements began from the blocks close to the Prime Minister, in addition to some Sunni blocs, to postpone the elections by judicial decision, while the National Alliance ruling meetings with the Electoral Commission to discuss the legality of postponement of the elections in the presence of Abadi and Nuri al-Maliki, Vice President of Iraq."
