The governor of the Central Bank Ali al-Alaq said that the budget of 2018 secured all social, health, security and salaries of employees and retirees.
Al-Alaq said in a statement to the official newspaper "Al-Sabah" that "the next budget adopted the price of a barrel at about 43 dollars, an export estimated at three million and 750 thousand barrels, with emphasis on the need to activate other resources to increase the budget in other amounts and reduce dependence on oil returns."
He added that "the recent visit to the United States of America included many meetings and discussions with the International Monetary Fund on the budget next year 2018," noting that the Fund is trying to be budget based on the program that was agreed with the Iraqi government.
