    Oil Minister Jabbar Ali al-Allaibi said on Friday that the oil marketing company "SOMO" is the only entity authorized to manage the marketing of oil through the port of Ceyhan and does not allow any other party to control and export oil from the oil fields in Kirkuk and other Iraqi provinces.
    "The government and the ministry are keen to resume oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan," Al-Luaibi said in a statement. "The oil marketing company" SOMO "is the only entity authorized to manage oil marketing operations through Ceyhan port, according to the official website of the Ministry of Oil.
    He pointed out that "the engineering and technical teams that were formed from the oil companies concerned will soon end the preparation of studies and surveys of the pipeline and the results achieved with a view to accelerating the completion and resumption of oil exports through this vital pipeline and the important which the ministry is preparing the main pipeline of oil exports through Ceyhan."
    Al-Luaibi pointed to "Iraq's desire to expand the contribution of Turkish companies in the development of infrastructure and investment in the refineries sector and other strategic projects."
